山形ドキュメンタリー道場は、アジアのドキュメンタリー制作者が製作中の自作をたずさえて自然豊かな山形の温泉地に長期滞在するアーティスト・イン・レジデンス事業です。世界や日本の映像作家、地域の市民と子どもたちとの交流を交えながら、作品づくりを見つめなおす集中した時間と場所を提供します。

 

The Yamagata Documentary Dojo is a filmmakers-in-residence program hosted in Yamagata, northern Japan. Asian filmmakers working on documentary projects are invited to reside in a hot spring spa, using the retreat as an opportunity to review their work from new perspectives. The program includes a workshop with Japanese filmmakers and international professional mentors, after which the filmmakers focus on reworking their projects while taking part in cultural activities with Yamagata children and residents.
