ONA: BETWEEN THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA
ONA/悪魔と深く青い海の間で
企画概要
鼻っ柱の強い少女オナは、貧しい島を出て海洋学を学ぼうと都会の大学に進学するが、差別、暴力、学費、汚職など数々のトラブルに遭遇する…。
A rebellious girl from a poor island family struggles to adapt to college life in the city and to achieve her dream to become a marine specialist while confronting a troubled past.

ドゥウィ・スジャンティ・ヌグラヘニ(監督)
通称:「ヘニ」。
インドネシアのジョグジャカルタ出身。ガジャ・マダ大学で政治学を専攻。地元NGO、国際NGOなどで働いた後、映画製作を始める。2003年以降、ジョグジャカルタ・ドキュメンタリー映画祭の運営に携わる。聾者や若者を対象にビデオ製作ワークショップを開く。2007年には米国ケンタッキー州のコミュニティ・メディアセンター、2009年にはニューヨーク市の映画配給会社ウィメン・メーク・ムービーズにインターンとして勤務。2008年、インドネシアのドイツ文化センターとジャカルタ芸術評議会の企画した「インドネシア:改革から10年」 という映画振興プログラムに、2012年、アムステルダム国際ドキュメンタリー映画祭(IDFA)サマースクールに参加。初長編『デノクとガレン』(2012)がYIDFF2013アジア千波万波で上映。2014年ベルリン映画祭タレンツ、2015年タレンツ・トーキョー参加。
Dwi Sujanti NUGRAHENI | Director 
Dwi Sujanti Nugraheni was born and raised in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She studied Political Science at Gadjah Mada University and worked for several NGOs, both local and international, before she turned to filmmaking. She facilitates video workshops for adolescents and the local deaf community. She worked as an intern at the Appalachian Media Institute, run by Appalshop, in Kentucky, USA in 2007 and at Women Make Movies, in New York City, USA in 2009. She received an Artist Fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council in New York in 2009 to observe the film industry, including film funding and distribution, in the US. In 2013, she received a John Darling Fellowship from the Herb Feith Foundation to take a post-graduate course in digital anthropology at the Digital Humanities Hub at the Australian National University. She is an alumnus of IDFA Summer School 2012, Berlinale Talents 2014, and Talents Tokyo 2015.

2012 – DENOK & GARENG, 89 mins, world premiered in IDFA First Appearance Competition 2012, selected in Yamagata IDFF 2013, Nuremberg IHRFF 2013, Dokfest Munchen 2013 and 15 others international Film Festival. The film won second best film in Chopshot International Film Festival-Jakarta, Silver Hanoman Award and Netpac Award at Jogja Asian Netpac Film Festival, Best Film in Salaya Documentary Film Festival – Thailand, and Best Feature Length Documentary at Festival Film Indonesia 2013.
2007 – JANJI JABRIK – JABRIK’S PROMISE, 20 min. Best Film at Think-Act-Change, The Body Shop Documentary Film Competition

ディアン・ヘルディアニ(共同プロデューサー)
インドネシア大学で映像人類学を専攻。2002〜2005年、In-Docs(インドネシア・ドキュメンタリー教育映画プログラム)でプロジェクト・マネージャーを務める。インドネシアの若手映像制作者がプロになるためのカリキュラムを構築。世界の映画機関と連携。2006年にカンポン・ハラマン財団を創設。コラボレーションを重視した映画づくりを通して若者の自己表現を後ろ盾する。この団体は2011年、アメリカ大統領の芸術・文化に関する諮問委員会で「国際スポットライト賞」を受賞。2018年、映像メディアで働くイスラム女性のジェンダー平等に取り組むプロジェクトでオーストラリアン・フェローシップ賞を受賞。
Dian HERDIANY | Co Producer
Graduated from University of Indonesia with a focus on Visual Anthropology. She started to work as Program Manager of In-Docs (Indonesian Documentary Education Film Program), 2002-2005. During her work at In-Docs, she designed the research and training curriculum for Indonesian young emerging filmmakers to produce their first professional documentaries. Collaborated with Women Makes Movies, Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival, Yunnan Multi Culture Film Festival, Flaherty Film Seminar etc.
In 2006, she founded Kampung Halaman Foundation to spread access for Indonesian young people to tell their own stories through participatory and collaborative films. She works with professional filmmakers, educators, researchers, non-profit organizations and government institutions. In 2011, her work with Kampung Halaman received an International Spotlight Award of The National Arts and Humanities Youth Program from The President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH) in the USA, which was presented by First Lady Michelle Obama at a special White House ceremony. 2018, she received the Australian Fellowship Award for “See Me, Hear Me” a Capacity Building to Address Gender Equity for Muslim Women Working in Film and Media from Griffith University and Kinetic Collective, Australia.

グレゴリウス・アルヤ・ディパヤナ(編集)  
通称:「グレッグ」。
ジョグジャカルタ出身。2010年インドネシア芸術学院研究科を卒業後、同校とジョグジャ・フィルム・アカデミーで教べんを執る。2002年より映画編集を始める。イファ・イスファンシア、エディ・チャフヨノ(『シティ』2014)、ガリン・ヌグロホ(『Memories of My Body』2017)らの劇映画を編集。初のドキュメンタリー長編が『デノクとガレン』(2012)。アムステルダム国際ドキュメンタリー映画祭(IDFA)サマースクール、ベルリン映画祭タレンツのポスト・プロダクション・スタジオ・プログラムに参加。
Gregorius Arya DHIPAYANA | Editor
Greg was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He completed his postgraduate from Indonesian Institute of the Arts in 2010, then became lecturer in Faculty Recorded Media Arts, majors on Film and Television, Indonesian Institute of the Arts and Jogja Film Academy. From 2002 he pursued film editing, his first film is Bring Me Flowers (Bawakan Aku Bunga -2002). In 2004 he joined Fourcolours Films as an Editor for some films. In 2008, he participated in the Cinema Capacity Building Program “Indonesia – Ten Years after Reformasi” proposed by the Goethe Institut Indonesien and The Jakarta Arts Council as an editor for his first feature-length documentary DENOK & GARENG. She participated in IDFA Summer School and IDFA Academy 2012 and Post-Production Studio Program at Berlinale Talents 2015.

Love of the Tapang Tree / タパンの樹の愛
ウォン夫人は死の床で、英領時代にボルネオ島サラワクでゲリラ部隊の司令官の妻だったという隠された過去を息子に明かす。現代舞踏家のタン・スックァンとのコラボレーション・ドキュメンタリー。「赤道雨」(YIDFF2011アジア千波万波)監督による新作。
With her days numbered, Madam Wong decides to unveil her deepest secret to her son – her early life as a wife of the commander in chief of a guerrilla force during the British colonial era in Sarawak, Borneo. A story of love at times of war.

呉康豪(ノーヴァ・ゴー)(監督)

ボルネオ島で生まれ育つ。1999年より、国立台湾芸術大学でヴィジュアル・コミュニケーションを学ぶ。台湾留学中、当時盛り上がりつつあったインディペンデント映画に影響を受け、数多くの短編映画の製作に関わる。2008年にボルネオに戻って作った初の長編ドキュメンタリー『赤道雨』(2011)がYIDFFアジア千波万波で上映される。その後のドキュメンタリー企画『The Claims』や『The Last Ring Ladies』はThe Asian Pitch、DMZ Project Market、Leipzig Networking Dayなどドキュメンタリー企画の国際共同製作市場で発表の機会を得る。
NOVA GOH |Director
Born and bred on Borneo Island, Nova Goh went to Taiwan in 1999 to study Visual Communication at National Taiwan University of Arts. During his stay in Taiwan as a foreign student, he was influenced by the promising growth of the indie-movie scene and started to become involved in various short-film-making projects. In 2008, he went back to Borneo to begin _The Red Rain on the Equator_, his first feature-length documentary. Aside from _The Love of Tapang Tree_, he is currently working on several documentary projects including _The Claims_, _The Last Ring Ladies_.

ボルネオ島を拠点にするライター。主な仕事は映画脚本と短編小説。NHKとKBSが共同製作に参加したドキュメンタリー企画『The Last Ring Ladies』に脚本で参加。
Ryan ONG | Scriptwriter
Ryan Ong is an aspiring writer based in Borneo. He primarily focuses on film script writing and short stories. He collaborates with Nova Goh on The Last Ring Ladies, a co-production with NHK, KBS and The Love of Tapang Tree.

スックァン・タン(ダンサー/出演者)
マレーシア・スレンバン生まれ。マレーシア国立サバ大学(UMS)よりクリエイティブ・アーツの修士号取得。2006~2013年、UMSで舞踊学の講師を務める。2014~2016年はボルネオ・ダンス・シアター(BDT)に所属し、2016年よりインディペンデントのダンス・アーティスト&コリオグラファー。サバ地方の儀礼的・祈禱的舞踊と自然風土への愛に触発され、ダンスと身体表現へ情熱を傾ける。2016年に「T’ang Dance Projects」を始め、長編ダンス作品「SyZyGy」をプロデュース。現在はシンガポールを拠点に活動を続ける。マレーシア国立華人舞踊公開コンペティションで2010年と2016年に入賞。2017年にはソロ作品「DaPang Tree」で韓国の2nd Solo & Duo Challenge for MASDANZAのファイナリストに選ばれた。
Sook Kwan TANG | Dancer/Choreographer
Tang Sook Kuan was born in Seremban and graduated from University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) with a Master’s Degree of Arts (Creative Arts) in 2012. She embarked on her journey as an independent dance artist and choreographer in 2016. Previously, she was a dance lecturer at the School of Arts, UMS for eight years (2006-2013), and committed to the dance industry as a choreographer and a full-time dance artist in Borneo Dance Theatre (BDT) for 3 years from 2014-2016.
The love of nature and deep engagement of ritual/shamanic dance movements/practices in Sabah has given her impetus and motivation to pursue her passion in dance and movement. In 2016, she established T’ang Dance Projects to produce her very first full-length contemporary dance production _SyZyGy_ in Sabah. Currently based in Singapore, she continues to pursue her passion in dance/movement choreography as an independent dance artist and envisions to stimulate inspirations through mimicry of life and nature in dance/movements creation.
As a choreographer, her work was awarded the Overall Champion and Outstanding Award in the 3rd and the 6th Malaysia National Chinese Cultural Dance Open Competition in 2010 and 2016 respectively. She was acknowledged as one of the 10 best choreographers in Sabah by National Department for Culture & Arts (Sabah, Malaysia) in 2016. In 2017, her solo _DaPang Tree_ was shortlisted as finalist for the 2nd Solo & Duo Challenge for MASDANZA in Korea.
